Essential oils, aromatherapy and body massages are a superb way to relieve stress, relax, AND energize your mind, body, and soul. This combination can also aid in "waking up" the senses - and who wouldn't benefit from that? Too many of us get wrapped up in the details of just getting through a busy day - and as a result we zone out. The more we do this the more we run on "auto-pilot." And that is certainly not healthy, nor does it do anything for our stress levels except maybe increase them. Getting a massage, especially when combined with aromatherapy, is a way to let go of stress and really start living in the moment again.

Almost all of us have certain scents that we are drawn to. Peppermint is invigorating, as is lemon and orange. Eucalyptus and pine are two more popular scents. The floral scents of lavender and rose can be very relaxing. Combining certain fragrances in aromatherapy can also lead to feelings of stimulation and relaxation. And since those senses and feelings are often the first to disappear during stressful times it stands to reason that certain scents can help bring out a decrease in stress levels and an increase in the healthy hormones that help us find our own eroticism.

Feeling another person's hands on our bodies, such as during a massage, can be an incredible stress reliever. It helps us to relax and helps the brain to release those "feel good" endorphins that are often in short supply due to our busy lives. Getting a massage can help clear our minds and let us focus on what feels good in the moment. Anxiety is often a by-product of not just what we actually experience, it is also present due to the fact that many of us over think our lives and our problems. We play the "what if" game in our minds - a game that isn't healthy or productive. A massage is a wonderful way to decrease those anxiety levels and bring us back to a healthy place.
